Regards, David I WELCOME MS SUPPORT TO 'TAKE OVER MY COMPUTER' AND FIX THIS! I'm following directions on how this SHOULD WORK, but it's not working! I have to admit, I cancelled an earlier attempt as it was taking so long. Obviously that was due to the volume. So how do I begin again - restart this process??? The answer is You have to create an app password in Gmail settings and then use the app password as your password when you create you Gmail account in Outlook. Do not use your Gmail password. See instructions below but go to above link as it includes screenshots.
Worked for me, should work for you. Likely will also work for CLOWNS if they can read. To create an app password. Sign in to your Gmail account. Select Google apps My Account. On the My Account page choose Sign-in & security. Under the Password & sign-in method, choose the arrow next to the App passwords, and provide your password if asked.
On the App passwords page, in the Select app drop-down choose Other (custom name). Type in a name, for example Myconnection GENERAT.
Note the app password under Your app password for your device. You can use this with your Gmail address in the app you are connecting to your Gmail account (or adding you Gmail account to). This combination grants complete access to your Gmail account by the app that is using it. After you have entered the app password, you do not have to remember it.
